UPDATE: June 1st, 2011
*Over the last few years, KiLR has been fortunate enough to go through real life artist development. A lost, but very important art that most bands used to go through after being signed to a major label record deal. Artist Development is used to help a band develop a unique sound, writing style, look, attitude, and live performance. Through out this artist development, we have realized that the band's promo material was just not up to par with the professionalism of the band. You can find many rookie and unprofessional videos of us on YouTube, but we don't want that to be your first impression of KiLR here on the KiLRmusic.com home page.
For the story of how we have progressed over the years please check out our bio and stay tuned for newly recorded music, and promotional material.
Answer from Wade MaVv:
KiLR (Pronounced Kyler)
I used to intern at a famous studio with Bryan Carlstrom and Dave Jerden, and by intern I mean I bugged the crap out of them until they would record my music.
They came up with the term "KiLR" from an old Beavis and Butthead episode and used to call all of their assistants "KiLR" (or in other words you don't know shit about recording so shut up kid and leave it to the guys with the platinum records). They are the nicest guys on earth and really fun to work with, but if you're a youngster who knows it all (like me), "KiLR" will become your permanent name in the studio.
Bryan Carlstrom's definition: KiLR is a derogatory name for an assistant in a major rock and roll studio.
